About this team and role: Mozilla IT is seeking a Staff Application Engineer, Salesforce to architect, build, and own the Salesforce platform that runs sales and revenue operations across our enterprise product lines. This is an opportunity to build Salesforce Sales Cloud from scratch to support our Enterprise products. You'll join at the start of the implementation, work alongside our implementation partner through go-live, and then own the platform outright. You'll also help shape how we work with AI, reimagine the headless experience for our end users, and build Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations that let our sales team work with CRM data through AI assistants and agentic workflows. This is a hands-on staff-level individual contributor role. You will set technical direction, make architecture decisions, build solutions, and establish practices that allow the platform to grow sustainably. What success looks like: During implementation, you will: <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Establish a scalable Salesforce architecture covering data models, business-unit structure, security, integrations, and release management.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Partner effectively with the implementation team while building the internal knowledge Mozilla needs to operate the platform independently.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Deliver a production-ready Sales Cloud foundation for the Firefox Enterprise launch.</li> </ul> After launch, you will: <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Own the technical health and evolution of the Salesforce platform, supported by documented architecture, governance, release, and support practices.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Develop a prioritized roadmap for lead-to-cash capabilities, including contracting, entitlements, delivery tracking, renewals, and finance integrations.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Deliver and evaluate secure AI-assisted workflows that reduce manual work without weakening data governance or user accountability.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Improve platform reliability, data quality, release confidence, and user experience through measurable operational improvements.</li> </ul> What you'll do: <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Lead the architecture and hands-on development of Mozilla's Salesforce platform across multiple enterprise product lines, and review designs and custom code from internal and external contributors.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Define scalable data models, account and opportunity structures, sales processes, role hierarchies, record types, and sharing rules.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Build and maintain platform capabilities using Salesforce Flow, validation rules, approval processes, custom objects, page layouts, reports, and dashboards.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Design lead-to-cash capabilities spanning quoting, contracting, order workflows, service delivery, entitlements, renewals, and revenue-management integrations.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and NetSuite, BigQuery, our contract-management platform, and other operational systems.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Establish environment strategy, sandbox governance, source control, automated testing, deployment pipelines, release controls, rollback practices, architecture documentation, and operational runbooks.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Design and maintain field-level security, permission models, role hierarchies, and sharing architecture in alignment with Mozilla's security requirements and ISO and SOC 2 controls.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Build secure MCP servers and other integrations that expose approved CRM data and actions to AI assistants and agentic workflows.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Partner with Sales, Revenue Operations, Finance, Legal, Security, and IT to understand business problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and prioritize platform investments.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Establish a sustainable support model and lead the resolution of complex production issues, vendor escalations, and platform risks.</li> </ul> What you'll bring:</div> <div> </div> <div>Required qualifications <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;">At least eight years in Salesforce engineering, administration, or architecture.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Experience leading or playing a major technical role in the implementation and ongoing operation of a complex Salesforce environment.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Advanced proficiency with Salesforce's declarative capabilities, including Flow, validation rules, approval processes, record types, permission models, and sharing rules.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Hands-on ability to read, write, test, and review Apex, SOQL, and Lightning Web Components.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Experience designing Salesforce data and security models for multiple business units, product lines, or sales processes.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Strong understanding of lead-to-cash processes, including opportunities, quoting, contracting, orders, fulfillment or service delivery, renewals, and finance-system handoffs.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Experience integrating Salesforce with enterprise platforms through REST or SOAP APIs, event-driven patterns, middleware, or integration platforms.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Experience building AI assistants, agents, or MCP integrations that securely use enterprise data and actions.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Ability to communicate architecture decisions and technical tradeoffs clearly to business leaders, technical teams, and implementation partners.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Ability to work independently, set priorities, and lead complex work across several teams.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.</li> </ul> Preferred qualifications <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Salesforce Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder, Platform Developer, Application Architect, or System Architect credentials.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Experience establishing or improving Salesforce environment management, automated testing, source control, CI/CD, and release-management practices.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Experience integrating Salesforce with NetSuite or another ERP platform.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Experience connecting Salesforce with BigQuery or another enterprise data platform.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Experience with Workato, Celigo, MuleSoft, or a comparable integration platform.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Experience supporting service contracts, entitlements, delivery operations, subscription renewals, CPQ, or contract-lifecycle workflows.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Experience operating Salesforce in an ISO 27001, SOC 2, or similarly controlled
