About the Role We are looking for a Software Engineer to build reliable, high-impact products at the frontier of AI and software development. You will own projects from idea to production, collaborate closely with product and design, and help define the technical foundations of Factory’s platform. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a fast-moving environment, enjoys solving complex technical problems, and wants to shape how the world’s leading engineering organizations build software. What you will do and achieve Design, build, and ship core product and platform capabilities. Own projects across architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and iteration. Develop scalable systems, APIs, and user-facing experiences. Collaborate with product, design, and engineering partners to turn ambiguous problems into effective solutions. Improve the reliability, performance, security, and observability of our systems. Raise the engineering bar through thoughtful technical decisions, code reviews, and operational excellence. Work directly with customers to understand their needs and deliver meaningful outcomes. Qualifications Experience building and operating production software. Strong programming fundamentals and system design judgment. Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages. Experience working with databases, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems. Ability to take ownership and deliver high-quality work with limited oversight. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements. Interest in AI, developer tools, or the future of software engineering. This is an in-office position (5 days/week) in San Francisco (walking distance to Caltrain)
