As a Software Engineer on this team within the <a href="https://www.coinbase.com/careers/product-groups" target="_blank">Developer</a> group, you'll build and extend the backend services and onchain contracts that power issuance, reserves, minting and burning, and rewards distribution for a fast-growing roster of partners.</p> <p class="mb-2 whitespace-pre-wrap"><strong>What you'll do:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Build and extend smart contract functionality for minting, burning, and safeguarding custom stablecoin supply, working closely with senior engineers on design and security review.</li> <li>Implement backend services that power onboarding, issuance, reserve accounting, and rewards distribution.</li> <li>Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to turn the stablecoin roadmap into shipped features every quarter.</li> <li>Develop reporting, monitoring, and internal tooling that improve reliability and operational excellence for the team.</li> <li>Write high-quality, well-tested code across both backend and smart contract surfaces.</li> </ul> <p class="mb-2 whitespace-pre-wrap"><strong>Required Skills and Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>2+ years of experience building and maintaining production backend services.</li> <li>Exposure to writing, testing, or deploying smart contracts (Solidity or similar EVM languages), or demonstrated ability to ramp quickly in new technical domains with mentorship.</li> <li>Comfort working within a service-oriented architecture and contributing to established systems at scale.</li> <li>Familiarity with Golang and blockchain fundamentals (Ethereum or similar EVM chains).</li> <li>Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.</li> <li>Demonstrates the ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots (e.g., LibreChat, Gemini, Glean) in daily workflows, continuously learn as tools evolve, and apply human‑in‑the‑loop practices to deliver business‑ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, and quality.</li> </ul> <p>#P77642</p><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p><strong>Pay Transparency Notice:</strong> The target annual <strong>base</strong> salary for this position can range as detailed below.
