About the Job As the Senior Software Engineer and Team Lead for Commander, you will own technical direction and execution across Keeper’s Python and .NET SDKs, Commander CLI and related developer automation capabilities. You will remain deeply hands-on in architecture, coding, debugging and design while also guiding a small team of engineers and raising engineering standards across the platform. You will work closely with Product, QA, Security and other engineering teams to ensure Commander remains secure, reliable, extensible and easy to integrate into modern DevOps and enterprise workflows. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys building developer-facing tools, APIs and automation platforms and who can move comfortably between low-level implementation details and broader architecture decisions. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Define and drive the technical architecture and long-term direction of Keeper Commander, including SDKs, CLI tooling and automation capabilities</li> <li>Design, build and maintain secure, scalable SDKs and developer tools across Python and .NET</li> <li>Lead development of CLI features, APIs and integrations used by enterprise administrators, developers and DevOps teams</li> <li>Architect integrations with CI/CD platforms, cloud services, infrastructure automation tools and enterprise systems</li> <li>Establish technical standards for SDK design, versioning, compatibility, error handling, testing and documentation</li> <li>Write high-quality production code and remain actively involved in complex feature development and troubleshooting</li> <li>Lead architecture reviews, design discussions and technical decision-making across the Commander codebase</li> <li>Partner with Product to translate customer needs and platform priorities into scalable technical solutions</li> <li>Collaborate with Security and QA teams to strengthen secure coding, testing, reliability and release quality</li> <li>Diagnose and resolve complex issues involving performance, concurrency, authentication, integrations and distributed workflows</li> <li>Improve developer experience across APIs, documentation, examples, tooling and onboarding</li> <li>Support and grow the Commander open-source ecosystem through pull request reviews, issue triage, community engagement and documentation</li> <li>Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance and raise engineering standards through code reviews and design feedback</li> <li>Help plan and sequence technical initiatives, balancing product delivery with platform maintainability and technical debt</li> <li>Evaluate new technologies and patterns that improve SDK performance, security, extensibility and developer productivity</li> <li>Use AI-assisted tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot or similar platforms to accelerate coding, debugging, technical research, testing and documentation</li> </ul> Requirements <ul> <li>7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant hands-on development with Python and .NET</li> <li>Strong experience building SDKs, APIs, CLIs, developer tools, automation frameworks or platform integrations</li> <li>Proven ability to design and evolve software architectures used by external developers or enterprise customers</li> <li>Strong understanding of API design, backward compatibility, versioning and developer experience</li> <li>Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP and associated APIs and security services</li> <li>Familiarity with DevOps and infrastructure automation tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible or Azure DevOps</li> <li>Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, secrets management, encryption and secure software development</li> <li>Experience designing and troubleshooting distributed or integration-heavy systems</li> <li>Strong debugging skills across application, API, network and integration layers</li> <li>Experience with automated testing, CI/CD and release engineering practices</li> <li>Experience contributing to, maintaining or supporting open-source software</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction without relying solely on formal authority</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly</li>
