<h1><strong>Senior Software Engineer, Developer Infrastructure</strong></h1> <p><strong>Reykjavík</strong></p> <p>The Developer Infrastructure team builds the tooling and systems our Asana engineers use every day to bring their ideas to production quickly and reliably. We build and operate the software that drives Asana’s roadmap. Each day, we combine industry best practices and innovation to support this product-focused company.</p> <p>We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer with a passion for developer infrastructure. You will work with a world-class team of engineers on deploying and operating existing developer tooling, and building new tools to support our global, growing development team. You will have a unique opportunity to design and develop the systems and applications that drive the Asana development experience, lead complex technical projects, and work on cross-functional initiatives to help define the future of software engineering at Asana.</p> <p>This role is based in our Reykjavík office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. If you're interviewing for this role, your recruiter will share more about the in-office requirements.</p> <h2><strong>What you’ll achieve</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Innovate the architecture of our development sandboxes to accelerate development iteration.</li> <li>Modernize our build system, tighten iteration loops, and polish frequent cycles in the developer experience.</li> <li>Lead complex developer infrastructure projects from technical design through implementation, rollout, and operation.</li> <li>Partner with engineering teams to identify opportunities to enable teams to develop faster at Asana and help the company achieve our goals faster.</li> <li>Analyze complex developer infrastructure systems to uncover issues, root causes, and areas for improvement.</li> <li>Keep Asana up to date on open-source trends and identify new opportunities for improved development infrastructure.</li> <li>Champion code quality and solid engineering practices, setting a standard through example, technical guidance, and infrastructure that promotes best practices.</li> <li>Write clean, maintainable code, striving to leave systems in a better state than you found them.</li> <li>Collaborate with a world-class engineering team to build reliable and intuitive infrastructure for developers across Asana.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>About you</strong></h2> <ul> <li>5+ years of software engineering experience, ideally backend- or infrastructure-focused, working in large, well-maintained codebases and shipping production systems.</li> <li>Familiarity with build tooling and automated testing, with an interest in distributed systems.</li> <li>Ability to learn quickly and transition seamlessly between different areas of a complex codebase and infrastructure stack.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills for collaborating with other teams and driving alignment across technical stakeholders.</li> <li>Sound autonomous judgment when balancing moving quickly with eliminating risks and building reliable, scalable, performant, and long-term maintainable systems.</li> <li>Curious about AI-assisted engineering tools and emerging technologies, with an interest in using them thoughtfully to improve productivity. </li> <li>Experience designing, building, or operating infrastructure on AWS or another major cloud platform is a plus.</li> <li>Excited to be part of an inclusive culture where everyone brings their whole selves to work.<br><br></li> </ul> <p>At Asana, we're committed to building teams that include a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills, as this is critical to helping us achieve our mission. To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we're committed to looking at market value which is why we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit.</p> <p>For this role, the estimated monthly base salary range is between 1 200 000 ISK - 1 500 000 ISK The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.</p> <p>In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity, sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits.
