At Webflow, we're building the world's leading Agentic Marketing Experience Platform, and we're doing it as a remote-first company built on trust, transparency, and a whole lot of creativity. This work takes grit, because we move fast, without ever sacrificing craft or quality. Our mission is to bring development superpowers to everyone. From entrepreneurs launching their first idea to global enterprises scaling their digital presence, we empower teams to design, launch, and optimize for the web without barriers. We believe the future of the web, and work, is more open, more creative, and more equitable. And we're here to build it together.

About the Role

We are looking for a backend-leaning Senior Software Engineer who is energized by distributed systems, cares about reliability as a feature, and wants to own infrastructure rather than hand it off to join to the Covert team, here you will build the systems that tell Webflow customers what to fix on their site, and then the agentic workflows that go fix it for them: technical and content recommendations, Forms, our AI workflow platform, and the agent builder customers use to compose and run their own agentic workflows. We're a product engineering team that owns its own infrastructure, and that surface keeps growing as we scale an agentic recommendations platform that does real work on customers' behalf. You will help us move from systems that react to failure toward systems that are resilient to it.

About the role:

Location: Remote-first (Argentina)

Permanent, full-time employee (this is not a contractor position)

Application Information:

Application deadline: applications accepted on an ongoing basis until position is closed and filled

This posting is for a new position.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Convert team, you'll:

Design, build, and operate the distributed backend systems behind our recommendations pipeline and our AI workflow execution engine, primarily in Python and TypeScript/Node.js.

Own and harden the infrastructure our products run on, including our AI workflow platform on AWS and Kubernetes: improving reliability, observability, and scalability, not just consuming infra built elsewhere.

Strengthen how our systems handle failure: eventing and streaming, retries, backpressure, and recovery, so a single outage doesn't turn into days of replay.

Reduce single points of failure across our infrastructure and share operational and on-call ownership, so no critical system depends on any one person.

Design clean service and API boundaries, and write and optimize the MongoDB data models and queries that power recommendations.

Leverage state-of-the-art AI tooling to increase your impact, and help the team build reliable systems on top of non-deterministic, LLM-backed components.

Partner with product engineers, PMs, and designers to ship end-to-end, and raise the bar on tested, observable, maintainable code and thoughtful design docs.

Mentor engineers across the team on backend and reliability practices as we shift the team's center of gravity toward distributed systems.

About you

Requirements:

BA/BS degree or equivalent experience

Business-level fluency to read, write and speak in English

You’ll thrive as a Senior Software Engineer if you:

Have 5+ years of experience building and operating backend systems in production, ideally in scalable, multi-tenant SaaS.

Have real depth in distributed systems: concurrency, asynchronous and eventually-consistent processing, queues or streaming, and designing for failure rather than assuming the happy path.

Are strong in Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js, and comfortable modeling data in MongoDB or a comparable database.

Are hands-on with cloud infrastructure and DevOps: AWS, containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and observability (metrics, logging, tracing). You're happy owning infra and improving it.

Value testing, documentation, and reliability as much as shipping features, and consistently communicate trade-offs to meet both technical and business goals.

Are comfortable with ambiguity, scope solutions with your teammates, and get energy from mentoring earlier-career engineers.

Stay curious and open to growth — demonstrating a proactive embrace of AI, and actively building and applying fluency in emerging technologies to elevate how we work, drive faster outcomes, and expand collective impact.

It would be a bonus if you had even one of the following:

Experience with workflow or orchestration engines (n8n, Temporal, Airflow, or similar).

Experience building on or operating LLM-backed or agentic systems in production.

A track record of taking a service from flaky to boringly reliable.

If you don’t meet 100% of the above qualifications, you should still seriously consider applying. Studies show that you can still be considered for a role if you meet just 50% of the role’s requirements.

Our Core Behaviors:

Build lasting customer trust. We build trust by taking action that puts customer trust first.

Win together. We play to win, and we win as one team.
