<p>At Rockstar Games, we create world-class entertainment experiences. </p> <p>Become part of a team working on some of the most rewarding, large-scale creative projects to be found in any entertainment medium - all within an inclusive, highly-motivated environment where you can learn and collaborate with some of the most talented people in the industry. </p> <p>Rockstar is on the lookout for a skilled Data Design Analyst who is passionate about video games and data design.</p> <p>This is a full-time, permanent and in-office position based in Rockstar’s unique game development studio in the heart of Leeds, England. </p> <h4><strong>WHAT WE DO</strong></h4> <ul> <li>The Rockstar Games Analytics team provides insights and actionable results to a wide variety of stakeholders across the organization in support of their decision making.</li> <li>We partner with multiple departments across the company, leveraging analytics to measure and improve on the success and health of our games.</li> <li>We collaborate as a distributed team to develop innovative data pipelines, data products, data models, reports, analyses, and machine learning applications.</li> <li>The Data Design function within Analytics partners closely with game development, analytics engineering, and data science teams to design telemetry that is reliable, interpretable, and optimized for downstream data model and pipeline consumption.</li> </ul> <h4><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Partner with game development, analytics engineering, and data science stakeholders to understand gameplay systems, product questions, and downstream data needs.</li> <li>Design clear, consistent, and scalable telemetry specifications that capture player behaviour and game systems accurately while supporting efficient data model pipeline consumption.</li> <li>In collaboration with the Game Data Development team, translate analytical requirements into raw telemetry event designs, schemas, naming conventions, validation rules, and documentation that can be implemented by development teams.</li> <li>Review proposed telemetry designs for completeness, quality, consistency, and suitability for downstream modelling, reporting, experimentation, and machine learning use cases.</li> <li>Collaborate with analytics engineers to ensure telemetry is structured to reduce transformation complexity and improve reliability of curated data products.</li> <li>Support the Data Integrity & Operations team’s telemetry QA by defining expected behaviours, edge cases, acceptance criteria, and validation checks for new or updated game instrumentation.</li> <li>Maintain documentation and design standards that improve discoverability, governance, and consistency across game telemetry.</li> <li>Contribute to best practices for event taxonomy, schema design, metadata capture, and lifecycle management of telemetry definitions.</li> </ul> <h4><strong>REQUIREMENTS</strong></h4> <ul> <li>5+ years experience in analytics, data design, data analysis, product analytics, game analytics, or a related data-focused role.</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative, technical, analytical, or design-oriented field.</li> <li>Strong understanding of event-based data, data schemas, data quality principles, and how raw telemetry supports downstream analytics and data modelling.</li> <li>Ability to translate ambiguous stakeholder questions into structured data requirements and practical telemetry designs.</li> <li>Familiarity with SQL and working with large-scale datasets to investigate, validate, or interpret behavioural data.</li> <li>Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to create clear specifications, documentation, and guidance for both technical and non-technical audiences.</li> <li>Strong attention to detail and ability to reason through edge cases, data lineage, implementation constraints, and downstream usage patterns.</li> </ul> <h4><strong>PLUSES</strong></h4> <p>Please note that these are desirable skills and are not required to apply for the position.</p> <ul> <li>Experience working with game telemetry, live service analytics, behavioural event taxonomies, data catalogues, or analytics engineering workflows.</li> </ul> <h4><strong>HOW TO APPLY</strong></h4> <p>Please apply with a CV and cover letter demonstrating how you meet the skills above.
