The PCB Layout and Interconnect Engineer will help drive the robot design and will develop robust and reliable electronics for this and future robot generations. Collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers is essential to understand product requirements and ensure designs are robust, safe, and production-ready.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>About The Work</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">The PCB Layout and Interconnect Engineer’s responsibilities include:</span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Executing complex, multi-layer printed circuit board layouts using Altium Designer to create PCB engineering deliverables for release.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Designing system cable assemblies, wire harnesses, and interconnect schematics based on mechanical and electrical constraints.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Estimating duration of work efforts to contribute to project schedules.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Implementing PCB layout solutions and/or harness solutions to improve emissions mitigation, power dissipation, test, manufacturing, and assembly test (DFM/DFA).</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Executing PCB layout or harness design and release checklists and presenting your design at cross-functional design reviews.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Collaborating closely with Mechanical Engineering to define board outlines, connector placement, keep-out areas, 3D harness routing through robotic assemblies, etc.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Partnering with PCB fabricators, assembly houses, and cable harness vendors to resolve technical queries and support production.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>About You</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Candidates should possess the following qualifications:</span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">5 or more years of PCB layout and cable harness design experience.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Deep experience with Altium Designer (for PCB layout) and 3D ECAD/MCAD integration.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Experience with complex layout constraints including high-speed differential signaling, impedance control, and power electronics.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">3D visualization capabilities to imagine and optimize space constrained circuitry and harness routing in challenging mechanical and thermal environments.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Strong understanding of IPC standards for PCB fabrication/assembly and wire harness assembly (IPC-620).</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Cable harness design specifically using Altium Harness.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Flex and rigid-flex circuit design.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Component footprint and symbol generation/management in Altium.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Must thrive in a highly dynamic 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Knowledge of HyperLynx for Signal Integrity (SI) and/or Power Integrity (PI) analysis.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Familiarity with PTC Creo for mechanical integration and clearance checks.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Adjacent engineering disciplines (schematic <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Location</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">This is a fully remote role with the option to work hybrid if a commutable distance from our Salem, OR, Pittsburgh, PA, or Fremont, CA offices. Candidates should anticipate regular travel to Salem, Oregon, or Fremont, California, averaging 1 week per quarter over a year, with bursts of extended stays in Salem or Fremont during critical project phases.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><em>The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
