At Snowflake, we are powering the era of the agentic enterprise. To usher in this new era, we seek AI-native thinkers across every function who are energized by the opportunity to reinvent how they work. You don’t just use tools; you possess an innate curiosity, treating AI as a high-trust collaborator that is core to how you solve problems and accelerate your impact. We look for low-ego individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-moving environments and move with an experimental mindset — who rapidly test emerging capabilities to discover simpler, more powerful ways to deliver results. At Snowflake, your role isn't just to execute a function, but to help redefine the future of how work gets done. As a Lead Developer Advocate, you will serve as a critical bridge between Snowflake’s product and engineering teams and the global developer community. You will create technical content, reference implementations, demos, and programs that help SQL developers, analytics engineers, data engineers, and data teams succeed with Snowflake. You will also represent the voice of the developer internally, translating friction points and emerging workflow needs into actionable product feedback, enablement priorities, and roadmap input. What You’ll Do Define and drive the advocacy strategy Own and execute the developer advocacy strategy for a key Snowflake domain spanning SQL development, analytics workflows, and the modern data stack. Align advocacy priorities with product goals, adoption opportunities, and measurable business outcomes. Identify the highest-value technical narratives, workflows, and proof points that will accelerate developer adoption and trust. Create technical content and reference implementations Build high-quality technical content including tutorials, quickstarts, blog posts, videos, workshop materials, code samples, and opinionated best-practice guides. Design and maintain production-grade reference implementations and demos that show how to use Snowflake for real-world analytics, BI, data transformation, and application development workflows. Create practical enablement assets that help developers go from first use to production, including onboarding paths, architecture patterns, and “how we built this” examples. Lead SQL and analytics workload enablement Define and scale the enablement experience for Snowflake developers working across SQL, data modeling, analytics engineering, dashboards, pipelines, governance, and performance optimization. Create documentation, samples, walkthroughs, and adoption assets for workflows across SQL, ELT/ETL, dbt, orchestration, semantic modeling, BI, and analytics application development. Partner closely with product, engineering, and field teams to identify high-value use cases, develop technical assets, and continuously improve developer workflows. Evangelize Snowflake in the EMEA market Represent Snowflake at conferences, meetups, workshops, hackathons, webinars, and community events through compelling talks and hands-on demonstrations. Engage meaningfully in developer communities across GitHub, Stack Overflow, Slack, Discord, Reddit, and other relevant channels. Establish thought leadership in SQL development, analytics engineering, developer experience, and data application architecture. Build the feedback loop into product Serve as a trusted internal advocate for developers by synthesizing feedback from customers, community members, partners, and field teams. Translate recurring friction points, workflow gaps, and adoption blockers into actionable recommendations for product and engineering teams. Influence product direction by grounding internal decisions in real developer behavior, technical constraints, and market needs. Scale programs and measure impact Partner with product marketing, sales, solutions engineering, education, and customer teams to scale successful narratives, demos, and programs. Design and run workshops, technical events, and hands-on enablement programs that drive meaningful engagement and product adoption. Define and track metrics for content effectiveness, developer engagement, community growth, and downstream adoption, then use those insights to continuously improve programs. What We’re Looking For Experience 5+ years of experience in developer advocacy, developer relations, technical evangelism, solutions architecture, developer education, or similarly hands-on technical roles. Proven experience operating as a senior individual contributor with significant ownership, influence, and cross-functional leadership. Demonstrated success driving adoption for developer platforms, data products, analytics products, or technical ecosystems. Technical depth Strong hands-on proficiency in SQL and Python. Deep familiarity with modern data and developer workflows, including analytics engineering, data transformation, orchestration, APIs, SDKs, notebooks, BI tools, and cloud data platforms. Strong understanding of SQL-centric developer workflows, including data modeling, query optimization, semantic layers, transformation frameworks, governance, observability, and dashboard or analytics consumption patterns. Experience building demos, prototypes, reference apps, or production-oriented examples for analytics, BI, data applications, or modern data stack use cases. Ability to explain complex technical topics clearly to audiences ranging from highly technical builders to broader developer communities. Content and community leadership Strong public portfolio of technical content such as talks, workshops, blog posts, videos, code samples, open source projects, or community programs. Experience growing and engaging developer communities through authentic participation and useful technical resources. Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to turn complex workflows into clear, actionable education. Cross-functional influence Strong product instinct and the ability to identify where developer friction maps to roadmap priorities. Track record of effective partnership with product management, engineering, product marketing, solutions engineering, customer success, and field teams. Bias for action, strong ownership, and comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments. Nice to Have Experience with Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, BI platforms, semantic layers, or adjacent cloud data platform ecosystems. Experience creating technical enablement for SQL developers, analytics engineers, or modern data teams. Familiarity with open source data tooling and developer workflows. Experience organizing hackathons, meetups, ambassador programs, or contributor communities. Background as a software engineer, data engineer, analytics engineer, solutions architect, or developer educator. Why Join Snowflake Help define how developers and data teams build, analyze, and ship on Snowflake. Shape the technical narratives, examples, and workflows that drive adoption of Snowflake for SQL and analytics workloads.
