IT Monitoring engineer

We stay at the cutting edge of innovation and implement the latest technological advancements including our own ideas.<br data-pos="343">Our close-knit team is looking for a new member to help us monitor the health of JetBrains IT services.</p> <p data-pos="449"><strong data-pos="451">Together with the team, you will:</strong></p> <ul data-pos="488"> <li data-pos="488">Monitor public and internal IT services round-the-clock.</li> <li data-pos="547">Process events in the incident management system in a timely manner.</li> <li data-pos="618">Diagnose issues and fix them when possible.</li> <li data-pos="664">Develop and maintain the existing monitoring systems: Terraform for managing resources on AWS and VMware vSphere, Ansible for configuration management, TeamCity for Continuous Delivery; develop the Prometheus + Kubernetes bundle.</li> <li data-pos="896">Perform DevOps tasks for other teams.</li> </ul> <p data-pos="937"><strong data-pos="939">Requirements:</strong></p> <ul data-pos="956"> <li data-pos="956">The ability and willingness to work night shifts.</li> <li data-pos="1008">Experience in administering Linux OS and Linux/Unix applications (e. g. DBMS, web servers) as a system administrator or DevOps.</li> <li data-pos="1138">The ability to diagnose issues with networks, operating systems, and applications;</li> <li data-pos="1223">Solid understanding of basic protocols at various levels (for example, DNS, DHCP, SSL, SNMP, etc.). It is not the set of protocols itself that is important but understanding the low-level processes behind basic actions, such as starting the PC or entering a URL in a browser.</li> <li data-pos="1501">Maintaining documentation and keeping the team informed about recent changes.</li> <li data-pos="1581">Strong knowledge of at least one monitoring system.</li> <li data-pos="1635">Hands-on experience in automating daily tasks with shell scripts, Ansible, or any other configuration management system would be a plus.
