Growth Intern at Dedalus Labs Mission Dedalus Labs is an AI research neolab building infrastructure for AI agents. We’re building the persistent compute layer that powers the next generation of autonomous software. Great technology deserves great distribution, and we’re looking for builders who can help developers discover, understand, and love what we’re building. Growth at Dedalus isn’t just marketing. It’s developer education, community building, storytelling, experimentation, and helping technical products find the people they’re built for. About the internship This is a paid, full-time, three-month internship based in San Francisco. Applications remain open on a rolling, year-round basis. When we meet an exceptional or unusually high-slope growth builder, we invite them to join the team for a season. You’ll work directly alongside Dedalus’s founders, engineers, and developer community on real growth initiatives. You may shadow experienced team members, but you’ll also be expected to take ownership, talk to users, create compelling technical content, run experiments, organize programs, and help bring products to market. Interns who demonstrate exceptional judgment, creativity, execution, ownership, and mutual fit may be considered for full-time roles. Conversion is possible, but never automatic or promised. You might be a fit if you Love meeting interesting people and building communities. Enjoy turning complicated technical ideas into clear, compelling stories. Think distribution is just as important as product. Have strong opinions about what makes technical content engaging. Are fascinated by startups, developer ecosystems, and internet culture. Like experimenting to discover what actually works. Care about good writing, good design, and good taste. Believe every interaction with a user shapes how they perceive a company. Are comfortable talking to developers and learning how technical products work. Are high agency and fiercely independent. Say what should happen, then make it happen. Are a competitive teammate with a heart of gold. Are hungry to learn, improve, and reflect deeply on feedback. Go above and beyond in everything you do. What you’ll build Technical content and developer education. Community programs, workshops, and events. Product launches and go-to-market initiatives. Growth experiments across acquisition, activation, and retention. Partnerships with developers, founders, universities, and ecosystem communities. Onboarding experiences that help developers become productive faster. Internal growth tooling and operational workflows. Representative projects You might find yourself: Organizing a hackathon, technical workshop, or developer event from start to finish. Interviewing developers to understand how they build and operate AI agents. Creating technical content for X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Reddit, Discord, and other platforms. Running growth experiments to improve developer acquisition and activation. Improving onboarding based on user behavior and direct feedback. Working with engineers to launch a new product or feature. Building a community around AI infrastructure and developer tools. Developing partnerships with founders, universities, and technical organizations. Creating systems for measuring which growth efforts produce meaningful results. What we look for Excellent written and verbal communication. Strong storytelling ability. Comfort explaining technical concepts to different audiences. Curiosity about AI, startups, developer tools, and technical communities. Evidence that you have independently created, organized, launched, or grown something. Creative thinking paired with strong execution. Comfort operating under ambiguity and learning quickly. Strong organizational ability and follow-through. High agency and excellent judgment. We evaluate accomplishments relative to your experience. You do not need conventional growth or marketing credentials, but you should be able to show that you have taken initiative and produced meaningful results. Nice-to-have A technical background in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Experience running communities, hackathons, or technical events. Familiarity with developer ecosystems and open-source communities. Experience creating technical content, videos, blogs, or newsletters. Experience with growth, product marketing, developer relations, or go-to-market work. Strong aesthetic judgment and design sense. Familiarity with platforms such as X, LinkedIn, Reddit, Discord, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. Startup, entrepreneurial, or independent project experience. Experience measuring growth through metrics and experimentation. A community, publication, social account, event series, or product you built from scratch. Taste You know what resonates. You understand developers because you spend time with them. You know when content feels authentic, when messaging is clear, and when a community genuinely enjoys being part of something. You care about substance as much as reach—and understand that attention only matters when it reaches the right people and creates lasting value. Logistics Paid, full-time internship lasting approximately three months. Applications accepted on a rolling, year-round basis. In person, five days per week, in San Francisco. Interns work directly with founders, engineers, and the developer community. Full-time conversion may be considered based on performance, company needs, and mutual fit, but is never guaranteed. Tips The first thing we look at is evidence that you’ve made something people care about. Show us communities you’ve built, events you’ve organized, technical content you’ve created, newsletters you’ve written, social accounts you’ve grown, products you’ve launched, experiments you’ve run, or independent projects you’re proud of. Be specific about what you personally did, what was difficult, what happened as a result, and what you learned. Links, artifacts, and measurable outcomes are especially helpful. We care far more about initiative, creativity, judgment, and demonstrated impact than previous marketing titles.
