San Francisco · In-person AgentMail is looking for an extremely high-agency generalist to work alongside our founders and early team. There is no clean job description for this role - and that’s intentional. We’re a small team building a rapidly growing company. Every week there are hundreds of things outside of writing code and talking to customers that need to happen for the company to move quickly. Your job is to own them. That could mean planning a company offsite, coordinating a candidate’s visit to San Francisco, helping us move into a new office, researching something for a founder, negotiating with a vendor, organizing a developer event, or making sure the office is stocked before the team gets in. As AgentMail grows, the problems will change. We want someone who gets excited by that. You’ll own things like Company operations. Make AgentMail an exceptionally well-run place to work. Own our office, vendors, equipment, supplies, food, onboarding logistics, and the hundred small things that make a company function. Founder operations. Help the founders execute quickly on things that fall between functions - research, coordination, travel, reservations, scheduling, logistics, and one-off projects. Hiring & candidate experience. Help us create an incredible experience for people interviewing at AgentMail, from coordinating visits to candidate dinners and work trials. Events & community. Help organize team events, developer dinners, hackathons, offsites, celebrations, and other things we want to make happen. Special projects. Take ambiguous problems and run with them. These might have nothing to do with one another. That’s part of the job. The common thread is ownership. Who we’re looking for We’re looking for someone unusually resourceful. You: See a problem and immediately start figuring out how to solve it. Don’t need a playbook before you can act. Are extremely organized and reliable. Move quickly without becoming sloppy. Have excellent judgment. Have excellent taste. Notice details other people miss. Are comfortable picking up the phone, negotiating, researching, and asking for what you need. Can juggle ten completely different things without losing track of them. Communicate clearly and concisely. You don’t need to have worked in operations before. Why AgentMail You’ll work directly alongside the founders and early team of a fast-growing developer infrastructure company. You’ll get exposure to almost every part of building a company: hiring, recruiting, finance, events, people, vendors, operations, launches, and whatever comes next. You’ll have an unusual amount of responsibility early. And there isn’t a predetermined box you have to stay inside. As the company grows, we expect this role to grow with it. If you become exceptional at recruiting, you can own more recruiting. If you’re great at company operations, you can build that function. If you discover you’re exceptional at something we haven’t thought of yet, we’ll give you room to run with it. This is a great role for someone who wants to learn how a company gets built from the inside - and would rather be thrown into the middle of it than watch from the sidelines. Come build with us.
