You will be responsible for core accounting activities including Accounts Payable, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, VAT and other tax-related activities, payment processing, and supporting the preparation of accurate financial information.</p> <p>This role is designed for an experienced accounting professional who wants to broaden their responsibilities over time. You will gain exposure to more complex accounting processes, international tax matters, reporting and finance projects, with the opportunity to develop into a broader Accountant role.</p> <p>You will work extensively in Oracle NetSuite, collaborate with colleagues across the business, and liaise with vendors and external parties. As part of a small and hands-on Finance team, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of processes, identify issues, and contribute directly to improving how Finance operates.</p> <p>You will report to the Head of Accounting.</p> <h3><strong>What you'll do:</strong></h3> <ul> <li><strong>Accounts Payable</strong> <ul> <li>Process and code invoices, manage the finance mailbox, and resolve AP issues (duplicates, mismatches, outstanding items)</li> <li>Run weekly/monthly payments (SEPA, PayPal) and reconcile corporate card transactions</li> <li>Maintain vendor records and support AP process improvements</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Reconciliations & General Accounting</strong> <ul> <li>Perform bank, credit card, and AP subledger reconciliations</li> <li>Prepare and post journal entries, including recurring entries and revenue recognition</li> <li>Support month-end/year-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and management reporting</li> <li>Investigate discrepancies and unusual transactions proactively</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>VAT, Tax & Compliance</strong> <ul> <li>Prepare Dutch VAT returns (OB, OSS, ICP) and support WKR compliance</li> <li>Assist with international VAT/GST/sales tax filings and liaise with external tax advisors</li> <li>Stay current on relevant Dutch/EU tax regulation changes</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Audit & Process Improvement</strong> <ul> <li>Support external audits with schedules and documentation</li> <li>Improve NetSuite processes, bank feed/expense integrations, and identify automation opportunities (including AI) across Finance workflows</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <h3><strong>What you'll need:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>5+ years in a similar accounting role, with strong fundamentals and Dutch GAAP experience.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with Oracle NetSuite. </li> <li>Solid grasp of Dutch/EU VAT (OB, OSS, ICP filings) and WKR</li> <li>Experience working with international VAT, sales tax or GST is a strong advantage.</li> <li>A degree or relevant professional experience in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.</li> <li>Strong attention to detail and a structured, organised approach to work.</li> <li>A proactive mindset with the ability to investigate issues and find practical solutions.</li> <li>Strong communication skills in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.</li> <li>Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small Finance team.</li> <li>Experience in revenue recognition.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Nice to have:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Experience in international B2C/SaaS/subscription businesses. </li> <li>Experience in High-volume transactions</li> <li>Experience in international VAT/GST </li> <li>Experience in consolidation</li> </ul> <h3><strong>We would also like to offer you:</strong></h3> <ul> <li><strong>Lunch: </strong>On days you work in the office a warm fresh lunch will be provided for you.</li> <li><strong>24 </strong>days of paid vacation per year + public holidays.</li> <li><strong>Travel Allowance</strong>, if you live more than 10 KM from the office.</li> <li>Company<strong> pension plan</strong>.</li> <li>Company <strong>events</strong> and <strong>overseas trips</strong>!</li> <li>New Joiner<strong> Swag Pack!</strong></li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><div class="job-blocks"> <div id="block-13" class="text block"> <div class="body" data-columns="1"> <h3 class="article"><strong>Is this you?</strong></h3> </div> </div> </div> <div class="job-blocks"> <div id="block-15" class="vacancy-text block"> <div class="body" data-columns="1"> <div class="article" data-medium-editor-element=""> <p>Get in touch!
