We are looking for a focused Software Engineering Manager to lead the Product Ledger team. This team builds the double-entry ledger service powering accounting and financial state across Ripple Products. You'll partner closely with Accounting, Product, and Compliance to build a correctness-critical system that scales across new business lines while remaining audit-ready and Oracle-integrated.</p> <p><strong>WHAT YOU’LL DO:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Think strategically while balancing both short and long-term needs</li> <li>You will build and lead hard-working engineering teams by motivating your team and leading by example to continuously innovate, improve and think differently</li> <li>You will deliver outstanding results for our customers and are a role model for other engineers</li> <li>Create a shared vision and build and maintain strong partnerships with Product Management, Ops, Security, Research, Customer Success, and Business development teams</li> <li>Responsible for the entire software development process for your team’s work</li> <li>Own and deliver your roadmap</li> </ul> </div> <div> <p><strong>WHAT YOU'LL BRING: </strong></p> <ul> <li>5+ years leading impactful engineering teams, having led teams of 8+</li> <li>Hands-on experience in Java (Spring) and comfort reviewing/contributing to backend service code</li> <li>Direct experience building or operating a <strong>double-entry ledger or core accounting/financial system</strong> — journals, debits/credits, chart of accounts, balance derivation, reversals</li> <li>Track record with <strong>correctness-critical, high-throughput transactional systems</strong>: idempotency design, concurrency control (optimistic locking / conditional writes), and balance-integrity guarantees under concurrent writes</li> <li>Experience partnering closely with team members — revenue recognition, intercompany accounting, GL mapping, reconciliation, and ERP integration (e.g., Oracle)</li> <li>Strong grasp of databases at scale and familiarity with NoSQL data modeling (e.g., DynamoDB) for future migration paths</li> <li>Experience designing <strong>event-driven systems</strong> that translate business events into balanced, auditable postings, with simulation/dry-run tooling for onboarding new event types</li> <li>Comfort operating in a <strong>regulated, audit-sensitive environment</strong> — immutable/append-only records, traceability requirements, safeguarding or similar compliance obligations</li> <li>Bonus: familiarity with crypto custody and multi-network asset movement (wallets, blockchain networks, exchanges) given the ledger's (asset, network) balancing model</li> <li>Proven track record of defining and owning a technical roadmap across multiple product verticals. This includes onboarding additional service areas onto a shared platform rather than focusing on a single product surface.</li> <li>Bias toward action, sound judgment under ambiguity, and success recruiting and growing strong engineers</li> </ul> </div><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><span class="s1">For positions that will be based in NY, the annual salary range for this position is below.
