About Praxis

Praxis began in 2011 with a desire to support and equip Christian entrepreneurs and has grown steadily into a 30+ person, NY-centric team advancing the redemptive imagination and action of founders, funders, and innovators motivated by their faith to address the major issues of our time. As a $15M+/year nonprofit with ambitious growth plans, we're expanding our venture-building work globally, organizing around the major issues of our time, and building media and more to activate the redemptive potential of Christians around the world. We see our team as the first carriers of the mission, building an organization that is great to work at, excellent in its craft, and redemptive in its finances as well as its programs.

Role Vision

Praxis supports Christian founders, funders, and creative leaders doing redemptive work in business, the nonprofit world, and wider culture. Our Media, Brand and Product team leads the third of Praxis' three tasks, activating the redemptive potential of God's people through ideas, stories and formational experiences such as The Praxis Course. The other two tasks are developing venture-building ecosystems and influencing the major issues of our time. We are hiring a Director, Brand Marketing & Operations to make sure our work reaches the people it is built for, connects to the other two tasks, and runs on clear plans and measures.

This is a Brand Marketing and Operations role, with time split evenly between the two. On brand marketing, this person defines who Praxis is trying to reach, maps how each audience finds and grows with Praxis, and leads brand planning, brand management, and go-to-market plans for launches and campaigns. Our creative studio runs the always-on editorial channels, including Praxis Press and social media, so this role focuses on where and how Praxis shows up for each audience across owned channels and institutional and platform partners, and brings design, content, editorial, product, and church engagement into one plan for each launch.

On operations, this person designs and runs the team's planning cadences, processes, and budget tracking, runs the learning loops that test whether we are hitting our KPIs and committed outcomes, and serves as the team's primary link to Praxis Internal Operations. In both areas, they work closely with the Managing Partner to integrate Media, Brand and Product with the rest of Praxis, so that a founder in an accelerator, a pastor hosting the Course, and a leader working on a major issue all encounter a consistent Praxis story and a clear next step.

We are looking for an experienced brand and growth marketer who is equally strong as an operator, with at least ten years of experience. They are fluent in growth and performance marketing, think in audiences and customer journeys, and build the plans, cadences, and scorecards that show a creative team whether its work is having the intended impact. This role reports to the Managing Partner, Media, Brand and Product, with a dotted line to the Partner, Media & Brand for brand marketing, brand management, and go-to-market execution.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Target Audiences & Customer Journeys

Define and maintain Praxis' priority audience segments, such as culture makers, founders, pastors, Course hosts, institutional leaders, and the next generation, with clear criteria for each.

Map the audience journey for each priority audience, from first contact through participation, hosting, and deeper involvement across Praxis' three tasks.

Run audience research with the creative studio, church engagement, and product teams, and turn findings into briefs the whole team can use.

Maintain the Praxis brand house so every team can see which audiences each initiative serves and how people move between them.

Brand Planning, Marketing & Go-to-Market

In partnership with key stakeholders, build and shepherd the annual Media, Brand and Product brand plan, setting audience priorities and campaign tentpoles and proposing budget for the year.

Lead the integrated go-to-market plan for each Media, Brand and Product launch and campaign, including The Praxis Course, Stories of Redemptive Imagination, Activate, and new digital products.

Build cross-functional marketing plans that set the audience, goal, message, channels, timeline, owners, and KPIs for each launch.

Support and integrate host recruitment and Course growth campaigns with the church engagement team.

Collaborate with the Partner, Media & Brand on positioning and messaging so every plan reflects one consistent Praxis brand.

Help manage the Praxis brand day to day, keeping brand guidelines and messaging current and making sure teams across Praxis apply the standards.

Channel & Partner Integration

Inform where and how Praxis shows up for each target audience across owned channels, Praxis events, and institutional and platform partners.

Develop and manage placements with platform partners such as YouVersion, and with churches, universities, and peer ministries, each with its own plan and metrics.

Work with the creative studio so the always-on editorial calendar, including Praxis Press and social, supports audience and campaign goals.

Shepherd the Praxis-wide go-to-market calendar of tentpoles, program moments, and always-on activity, in partnership with Task 1 and Task 2 teams.

Growth & Performance Marketing

Set growth targets and track them across web, email, social, partner platforms, and emerging channels.

Design and run experiments on messaging, landing pages, and conversion paths, and scale what works.

Plan and manage paid media where budget allows, with clear cost and conversion targets.

Own CRM and audience data strategy with Internal Operations so Praxis can serve its existing network and reach new audiences.

Track brand performance by audience, including reach, engagement, and movement along each customer journey, alongside campaign and conversion results.

Measurement & Learning Loops

Integrate and own the Media, Brand and Product KPI scorecard, including Course completions and hosts, audience reach and engagement, and grant-committed outcomes.

Work with the channel leads on establishing the team's learning agenda by setting the questions, tests, and review dates for each priority.

Report on a regular cadence whether we are hitting our KPIs and intended outcomes, and recommend changes to plans and budget.

Separate early signals from hard metrics so leaders know how much confidence to place in each result.

Media, Brand and Product Operations

Design and run the team's operating cadences, including annual and quarterly planning, weekly priorities, and launch and campaign reviews.

Build the processes and tools that connect vision and strategy to plans, budgets, and delivery.

Keep priorities, resourcing, and progress visible across the team and to the Managing Partner.

Serve as the team's primary link to Praxis Internal Operations for planning calendars, budget cycles, reporting, and shared systems.

Represent Media, Brand and Product in Praxis-wide planning, and work with the Managing Partner to integrate the team's plans with Task 1 and Task 2 teams.

Track spend against the Media, Brand and Product budget and flag tradeoffs to the Managing Partner.

Connect the team's operating cadence to media production operations so creative intake and production follow team priorities.

Key Competencies

Audience strategy: defines audience segments with clear criteria, maps customer journeys, and turns research into usable briefs.

Brand planning and management: builds annual brand plans, keeps brand guidelines and messaging current, and helps teams apply them consistently.

Growth and performance marketing: sets growth targets, runs experiments, manages paid media, optimizes conversion, and tracks brand performance across channels.

Integrated planning: builds cross-functional plans that align creative, editorial, product, and program teams around shared goals and dates.

Partner and platform marketing: plans and measures placements with institutional and platform partners.

Measurement: builds KPI scorecards and dashboards, distinguishes signals from hard metrics, and turns results into clear recommendations.

Operations: designs and runs planning cadences, budget and resourcing processes, and tools that teams adopt and keep using.

Collaboration: leads through influence across creative, church engagement, product, operations, and leadership partners.

Tools: works fluently in Praxis' suite (Airtable, Asana, Notion, Slack, Figma, Canva, Google Workspace) and with CRM, email, and analytics platforms.

Ideal Prior Experience

10+ years across brand marketing, growth marketing, go-to-market, and marketing or business operations roles, including launches built from zero.

A track record of campaigns or programs that grew audiences or participation against set targets.

Experience defining audience segments and customer journeys and using them to guide channel and content decisions.

Experience managing a brand across multiple teams or programs, including brand plans and guidelines.

Experience running growth and performance marketing programs, including experimentation and paid media.

Experience marketing through institutional or platform partners, such as churches, schools, networks, or content platforms.

Experience building and running operating cadences, planning and budget processes, or marketing operations for a multi-disciplinary team.

Experience working across creative, product, and program teams, with or without direct reports.

Additional Details

Location: New York City preferred.
