Great stories start with extraordinary people. We’re bringing together exceptional creative talent to tell the stories of people shaping the future. Work alongside people who raise your standards, champion your ideas, and give you room to do the best work of your career. Story inspires science. Science makes story real. Your Story We're hiring a Designer for BLADE, Story's brand and strategy division. You'll take client work from strategy brief to finished design, building brand systems, campaigns, decks, and the assets that bring them to life. You'll own design delivery on one account and support the Design Director on another, working closely with strategists and presenting your work directly to clients. Responsibilities: Own design delivery across brand kits, campaign systems, decks, and ongoing client assets. Support the Design Director on a second client account. Turn strategy briefs into clear, distinctive design, and challenge the brief when the idea needs more work. Direct shoots and manage vendors with light oversight. Present your work to clients and explain the thinking behind it. Partner with strategists and account leads to keep projects moving and deliver work on schedule. Requirements: Strong portfolio demonstrating brand systems and campaign work across multiple styles. Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite. Ability to take work from concept through final delivery. Strong presentation and communication skills. Based in the SF Bay Area or willing to relocate. Degrees not required. Your work speaks for itself. Bonus: Systems thinking: you can keep a brand consistent across channels without making everything look the same. Experience working with deep-tech or science companies. A strong eye for when to push an idea further. Comfort moving quickly between independent work and close collaboration. Interest in mentoring other designers as your responsibilities grow.
