Expect to get together quarterly for intense in-person working sessions called “surges.” <a href="https://www.coinbase.com/careers">learn more about working at Coinbase</a>.</p></div><p>As a Senior Associate on the Compliance team, you'll support the implementation and execution of Coinbase Canada's compliance program, covering AML/ATF, KYC, sanctions, transaction monitoring, and regulatory reporting under FINTRAC guidelines. This team ensures Coinbase Canada meets its regulatory obligations as the business grows and expands across new products and services. You'll partner with the Canada Chief Compliance Officer to strengthen controls, manage compliance cases, and drive reporting and process improvements that keep Coinbase Canada ahead of evolving Canadian regulatory requirements.</p> <p><strong>What you'll do:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Own AML/ATF compliance reporting for Coinbase Canada, including drafting reports related to fiat and virtual asset transactions, STR and LVCTR filings, and ensuring all submissions meet FINTRAC guidelines and timelines.</li> <li>Manage and review assigned compliance cases within defined SLAs, providing clear guidance to internal stakeholders on escalations, EDD reviews, and high-risk or complex matters.</li> <li>Drive regulatory monitoring by tracking FINTRAC announcements, legislative changes, and industry developments, translating them into actionable updates for the Canada financial crimes compliance program.</li> <li>Coordinate responses to requests for information (RFIs) from fiat partners, ensuring timely and accurate extraction of user data and supporting documentation in line with local regulatory expectations.</li> <li>Lead or support automation initiatives aimed at streamlining KYC, EDD, and reporting processes, partnering with CX, Legal, and Tech teams to improve data consistency, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.</li> <li>Execute risk assessments and compliance reporting for Canada, ensuring systems and controls effectively address financial crime risks across the entity.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Skills and Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>5+ years of financial crimes compliance experience in financial services with a focus on AML/ATF, KYC, and sanctions, preferably within cryptocurrency, fintech, or a FINTRAC-regulated entity.</li> <li>Working knowledge of Canadian financial crimes compliance requirements, including FINTRAC guidelines, the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA), and related reporting obligations (STRs, LVCTRs).</li> <li>Demonstrated experience managing compliance cases, conducting EDD reviews, and producing regulatory filings and compliance reports with accuracy and within defined timelines.</li> <li>In-depth understanding of cryptocurrency transaction flows, including transaction monitoring, risk assessments, and the ability to apply AML/ATF frameworks to virtual asset activity.</li> <li>Bachelor's degree or equivalent.</li> <li>Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.</li> </ul> <div id="fortidlp-input-element-parent"></div><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p><strong>Pay Transparency Notice:</strong> The target annual <strong>base</strong> salary for this position can range as detailed below.
