The Position The Digital Label Operations Assistant supports the day-to-day operations of Reservoir’s recorded music catalog, with a focus on digital product setup, video delivery, lyrics, metadata, and catalog maintenance. Working closely with the Digital Label Operations team, this position will assist with the setup and maintenance of releases in OpenPlay, delivery of video content to YouTube and VEVO, lyrics operations, and ongoing catalog data and quality-control initiatives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with metadata and digital assets, and interested in developing a career in digital music and label operations. This is a temporary part-time position with an intended end date of March 31st 2027. The role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities. Set up and maintain digital products in OpenPlay, including release and track metadata, artist information, contributor credits, identifier codes, lyrics, territories, artwork, audio, and other required assets. Set up, deliver, and maintain music videos, visualizers, and other video content on YouTube and VEVO, including preparing and reviewing metadata and assets against platform requirements, monitoring deliveries, and troubleshooting rejections or errors. Conduct ongoing catalog audits and quality-control checks on metadata, assets, and video content to support cleanup and correction projects across OpenPlay and other internal systems. Maintain accurate internal trackers and documentation of completed work, releases, videos, lyrics, catalog maintenance, and outstanding operational issues. Support the Digital Label Operations team with day-to-day requests, catalog migrations, metadata initiatives, platform-related projects, and other special projects as needed. Assist with the development and maintenance of internal processes, SOPs, and best-practice documentation. Develop and maintain familiarity with Reservoir's distribution partners, DSP requirements, metadata standards, and digital delivery workflows, staying informed of evolving industry requirements and best practices. Qualifications Previous experience or internship experience in digital operations, label operations, music distribution, metadata, video operations, or a related area within the music industry preferred. Strong interest in digital music distribution and the operational processes involved in releasing and maintaining music across digital platforms. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when working with metadata, spreadsheets, datasets, and digital assets. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Basic understanding of music metadata, including UPCs, ISRCs, artist information, contributor credits, and release metadata preferred. Familiarity with YouTube, VEVO, Airtable, DSPs, and digital distribution platforms preferred. Experience with OpenPlay, YouTube CMS, FUGA, or similar content and metadata management systems is a plus. Strong Excel and/or Google Sheets skills and comfort working with data. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify inconsistencies, follow established processes, and escalate issues appropriately. Collaborative and proactive approach with an eagerness to learn and take ownership of assigned workflows. Passion for music and an interest in developing a career in digital label operations.
